Assalam Center Victim of Hate Crime
Dear Brothers and sisters,
On March 19, 2002, a sign posted on Assalam Center land at 1499 NW 4th Avenue in Boca Raton, announcing the "Future Home of Assalam Center" was found burned. Assalam Center immediately reported this hideous crime to the Police Department and to the media, including newspapers and TV stations. The incident received the widespread coverage it deserves. Furthermore, on March 25, Assalam Center office received an anonymous threatening note that no mosque will be allowed to be built in Boca Raton. As Muslims we need to be vigilant during these tough times and fight hate with unity, strength and education. Assalam Center is determined to build this mosque for the sake of Allah (SWT).
